در ویکی‌نبشته الگوها محبوب‌ترین رویکرد برای پیاده‌سازی قالب‌بندی‌های پیچیده‌تر هستند. الگو ها با دو جفت ابرو <nowiki>{{ }}</nowiki> در متن به کار می‌روند. در میان این دو ابرو غالباً از یک نویسهٔ «|» برای افزودن مقادیر استفاده می‌شود.
